Looking after your feet is essential for maintaining comfort and mobility, yet managing foot care alone can sometimes be challenging. Painful feet can impact everyday activities and reduce quality of life.

We offer routine foot care services including nail cutting, callus removal, and the safe treatment and management of corns, helping you stay comfortable and active and as pain-free as possible. We offer diabetes check, advise and treatment of fungal nails and verruca.

 

Diabetes foot care 

Diabetes can effect your feet in many ways. It can cause neuropathy and circulation problems. 

Neuropathy: Patient with diabetes can lose feeling in their feet causing symptoms such as burning, tingling and numbness.  It can cause toe deformities which can increase pressure areas causing callus and corns and sometime ulcerations. 

Circulation: Patients with diabetes can developed problems with circulation problems and reduction in blood flow. 

Diabetes foot checks: It is important to have regular checks of your feet. This involves checking foot pulses and sensation as well as information on what to look for to prevent problems and ulcerations and who to contact if there is a problems. It is also important to know your foot score and what that means. 

Callus and corns 

Callus and corns are present often due to friction or pressure. This can become painful when walking and reduce or restrict mobility. It can be difficult to self treat and can often cause more harm especially if you have diabetes, reduced immune system or poor circulation. We can treat callus and corns safely and give expert advice on ways to self manage along with regular treatment. 

Fungal nails 

Fungal nails are common and can spread easily. It often starts small and progresses to spread the whole nail over time. The nails look can look discoloured, crumbly and in some cases thick and difficult to cut. Fungal nails are difficult to treat however at we can give expert advice on the best treatments and guidance for helping to resolve fungal nails. 

Verruca 

Verruca can be miss-diagnosed as a corn. A verruca is caused by the human papillomavirus. They are contagious and often transmitted through skin to skin contact or in environments that are damp and warm like swimming baths, in showers and changing room. At CB podiatry, Chloe can advise on treatment options based on the individual needs ranging from debridement of callus or verruca tissue to topical applications.
